So my LFS has some Featherfin Synodontis, or Featherfin Squeaker catfish, whatever people like to call them. And I wanted to know if anyone's had experience with these. When I tried looking up the fish I kept seeing people saying it's peaceful, and people saying it's aggressive. I don't plan to get one unless I have a bit of knowledge on them. And if I were to get one it would be going into my 240 I'm building soon

They are usually peaceful but can also be killers. I have had a few and the first two were very peaceful and so was the third until I added another synodontis. Within the first day he almost killed the synodontis by jamming its spikes into the other synodontis so its really hit or miss. What are the other tank mates.

The fish that are for sure going into the 240 is 1 oscar, 1 firemouth, 6-8 Silver dollars, 1 royal pleco, and 1 Sun catfish, so I might be at about the limit of how many fish should go in

I think you should be fine with the synodontis, I kept mine with silver dollars and firemouths.

This is a very common fish at LFSs and a lot of people keep them and report on them.

It seems they are usually, like 90% of the time, are fine with their tank mates but problems have been reported too. See sixth post down with a link collection http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=43896&hilit=eupterus+aggression

Tank, furniture / plants, tank mates, age, gender, number and kind of tank mates, etc. all have their influence.

I've not had any big problems with my eupterus, even with other eupterus. They only need to figure out the pecking order.

I kept a Eupterus from 2”-6” and it was only territorial around ‘his’ cave fine with other cats, silver dollars and other larger community fish once he was out and about

I have one and the sunken ship is his! Ever since he claimed that his home, I never see any other fish go in it. He never attacks others or anything. He's actually the reason that I had to get a bigger tank! I didn't do the proper research about him before I adopted.
