I have a two year old Ghost Knife and have the opportunity to get a 2 year old Senegal Bichir. Would they be compatible tank mates in a 55gallon? any help would be great, i really like both but don't want either harmed. Thanks in advance.
compatibility wise, yes they can be housed together. tank wise, no, a black ghost knife gets almost 2 feet and needs a 125 at the bare minimum. I will be keeping bichirs and bgk in a 180 myself.I have a two year old Ghost Knife and have the opportunity to get a 2 year old Senegal Bichir. Shouldn’t be. Size should be ok. Bgks growth is varied and slow. Got a while to upgrade. The Ghost knife is 6” and the Bichir is 8”. I will move them up to larger tank as they grow. Will the size of the Bichir be a problem to the Ghost knife initially?
BGK and bichirs can be slow eaters so if you put upper water fish, make sure that they cannot be eaten, and will not eat the food you give to your bichir and bgk. What would be some upper water region fish that I could keep with both ?
