Around the area here, I know of Gerbers, Aquatics and Exotics, and Aquatics Galore. I frequent Gerbers, and I’ve made the trip down to Aquatics and Exotics, but I haven’t been up to Aquatics Galore yet. It’s on my to do list?
Who do you think has the best selection in the Dayton and Cincy area?I'm actually all the way down in Northern Kentucky. I work at World of Pets. I usually hit all those stores you mentioned but I've never been to aquatics galore either.
Obviously I have to say Gerbers just based on the scale of it. Then I might be biased but I think we do a good job at getting some of the weirder stuff in down here at World of Pets we always have a few good oddballs in.Who do you think has the best selection in the Dayton and Cincy area?
A flashlight fish? I'm surprised that made it to a fish store! I hope someone had the proper care conditions to keep it alive and healthy, because I'm assuming they're not easy to keep because of how deep in the ocean they live. Aquatics and Exotics is probably my favorite besides those two just to see some bigger monster fish. But I've never seen anything that really blew my mind besides the fly river turtle and shark tank.
Anomalops katoptron was the species while they can live deep down this species actually comes up at night and feeds off the reefs so while it can't live in a brightly lit tank it doesn't really need any special care they happily ate brine and mysis shrimp. I actually kept one for awhile until I ended up doing around a 50% water change and it ended up dying the next day. After being otherwise healthy for a two or three months. I've never been able to find a cheap one again otherwise I'd love to try again I could see the pale eyespots from across the room at night.A flashlight fish? Edit: I like to keep my rarer fish after they die so I still have him in a jar somewhere. Juusst in case they become extremely rare even in the wild someday.
