4 VATF 1 GATF Growout Community

Well got the group home and I'm the tank. 3 are same head and body shape. 1 has a different head shape not an expert on ID but i know 3 are VATF. Other is VATF I believe. Bottom pics is the one in question of anyone wamt to help confirm. Waiting for my new light to be delivered for better color.

Started with 4 at 4". Was down to 1 by 10". Tank was a 300.

ATF aren't for everyone. I know there's several groups of fish I enjoy a lot more cause I KNOW they will actually get a long and won't kill eachother or tank mates.

I may try again someday when I have what I could actually call a large tank IF I could get a hold of a group of Tanzies. The other species in my opinion are a waste of time to try to get a group to live together......

We need C Chicxulub to offer his thoughts on the ID. He's got stuff in the cooker on the topic. fugupuff fugupuff Wes' input would be nice too, as always. He is in cahoots with Chicx.

IMHO, one or two or three of these fish look somewhat different from my fish that I call VATF. But which ever is the real VATF, I don't know, after having read Chicx' most recent (and most helpful and appreciated) update on the ATF ID woes in the stickie.

The more the merrier. These fish are tough for me to id. My main thing was making sure it wasn't a FATF who h I'm fairly confident they are not as the adipose fin color and body shape are not a match. I can rule out gatf for obvious reasons. Outside of that if it's one of the other 3 VATF Batf or tatf I am more than happy. Tommorow my new LED will arrive so I cam get better pics because it will be full spectrum showing the fishes true colors not the blue hue I have. Couldn'thave a newly stock tank and no lights for a week lol

In your opinion Viktor what would you id them as?
 
My opinion would be worthless. As I stated, I don't even know or have a good guess what my fish are because of that stickie and perhaps also because of some info by Chicx and Wes in the threads of the ATF forum. Too many ID subtleties plus an unknown species or two in the play? I couldn't say anything and kind of discouraged to pick on this issue. Selfishly, I'd rather take a passenger seat in this car.

Totally understood as I feel the same way lol drive myself in circles have read the Id section 100 times
 
Yup. Same here except I dropped it after 1-2 reads and seeing my impotence.
