That's a relief, thank you. The plants are not dying completely, just acclimating after the transfer and losing leaves. I'm trimming as needed.

Two more questions: I've been reading about prophylactic quarantine treatment. I never quarantined this little fellow because he has a tank of his own and I didn't know then about the plethora of parasites a bichir could carry. Should I treat him at this point or only if symptoms appear? I'm hoping to get one or two more bichirs soon. I'll definitely quarantine them but if I don't treat this guy and he has something, there's a chance the new additions will get infected again.

And what would be a good substitute for Jungle Labs Parasite Guard? No one seems to carry it where I live.
If they aren’t wild fish then the worry ain’t there so much. Would just keep in separate tank for about 30 days and watch. No need to treat. If at the 30 day mark everything is good then introduce to the main tank.

Truly? Can I sleep in peace? (Lol!) I've been reading everything I can find on poly diseases and there are some grisly cases out there... What about the pinkish hue? I've read that pinkish fins can be an indication of bacterial infection.
I think he was just seeing his reflection mine all do this

I always treat new fish with two rounds of parasite gaurd in a QT (similar to jungle labs) but now PG is no longer being sold as well.

Qt doesn't have to be fancy btw. I plan on you general cure asa replacement

Agreed - just a thing they do sometimes. More swimming room might help some. But this is more swimming than actual thrashing.

They do really prefer temps up higher, like 78-82. Your plants are just adjusting - you should be able to keep plants in 78-80 no problem... I've heard of others having issues above that but my plants were fine 80-82 - they were established, though.
