Thanks stanzzzz. I'm actually going to just leave the leaves in there and see what it does to water quality. Your SA tank was a big part of the inspiration to do that. I read a German article, as well, about breeding parananochromis and they made the argument that leaf litter was one of the triggering aspect to begin the breeding process.
