Is there something like a gar or like a arowana fish that is possible to keep in a 2meter aquarium?
Of course. Either a Florida or a spotted gar(Both of them are true Gars :)) would fit in nicely in your tank.
Another good surface dweller is the arowana.

If the tank isn't more than 60cm wide then I wouldn't recommend any of those fish. Spotted gar maybe once you have enough width, but 2 metres isn't big enough for a Florida gar. No ways.

And arowana? They need a much much larger tank.

Pike characins are nice too

I agree withhendre. arowanas get around half my tank size, gars get even larger.

Charachins are a good idea. But hard to find except the so small ones that u dont want them

Well I've seen ones in tanks just like your tank sizes and smaller. And I'm keeping 2 in a 75gal.(temporarily:D)

Long term just isn't suitable. Not for more than a few months really

I said TEMPORARILY. Once they grow I'm going to put them in my pond.
Awesome!

Unfortunately I don't have that luxury, so I stick to fish I can easily manage :)
