Hey y'all. Me and my dad decided I could get a south american lungfish. From what I've seen, they handfeed pretty easily. But if mine doesn't, that's okay too. I'm just so excited! Wish me luck!
Thank you! I think I'll get him around September, so I'll post pictures of him then!Cool keep us updated! Good luck!
As an adult, he'll at least get a 75 gallon. But if he grows too big for it, we will definitely upgrade! I know lungfish don't move around too much, and I saw they could even be in a 60 gallon (though that seemed a little thin of a tank). We are going to build it, so we certainly can adjust it to meet his comfort level. That is awesome, yes photos would be great
Those beasts can get up to 4ft, what size tank do you have ?
I can only imagine! From what I've seen, the sal is very tolerant of hand feeding and being petted. Is this true or are these just special sals?Years ago I had an African lungfish in a 180 until I felt he needed a larger home. Seriously great pet fish and incredibly interesting. He shared his home with a group of volcano rasboras for about a year with no problems (after he was about 28" they were added). You won't believe how thick they are at larger sizes.
