300 gallon poly tank

I thinks so. That was the plan. They were supposed to stay in the 75. But then again these are my 1st jags never kept an adult. @thebiggerthebetter and @koltsixx could probably better answer.

Sorry for the pestering Viktor. I'd rather be proven wrong than give bad advice lol
No problem. Asking a question or tagging someone needs no excuses :) unless done in spite :) It seems the byway question has run its short course anyway. If it was about whether 75 gal could house jaguar catfish, then the answer is affirmative as the catfish do not exceed 5"-6" usually. But bigger is always better for a fish. IIRC, your own experience shows significant differences in jag behavior in 75 and in 300, with the behavior in 300 gal being an improvement.

650 aud !!!!!! Wow. Yeah I would not be keeping polys if the cheapest one was 650.

I'm assuming they are as restricivre with cats ? Are the cichlids a little easier to aquire ?

You can get pictus and hoplos and raphael size cats easy enough at around $35 AUD each. Shovel noses and retails are highly illegal but some get through, I've only ever seen 3 RTCs in my life, last year a 5cm one was for sale at a seedy LFS for $1750 AUD,
There is a black market but you need the connections and be willing to face the consequences if you get caught and there are usually a few people busted each year, people always like to show off their illegal fish then someone opens there mouth in the local LFS........
There's a half decent range of cichlids available but the issue is the guys with quarantine facilities only import what sells quickly and a tank full of juvenile, monsters don't move too quickly in the shop compared to some nice bright community fish. Apparently it's not cost effective too import a single specimen, only 20 or so of anything so can't place special orders for things even if they are on the import list unless you have lots cash to spare. To put it in perspective the $650 bichir is pretty much an average weeks take home pay for most people.

@Dloks didn't want to detail @justarn thread anymore than we did lol but here's another fun game we love to play. "Let's kill dad's fish" he turns the pumps off.

Yeah I know... He wasn't born yet when I put the strip in.
