Sadly most of the real monsters don't get caught, the smart ones almost never see prison time, and some of those guys are like brutal ghost, they operate in such a way that there's very little risk, and usually when they do a crime someone else is blamed, such as in murder cases, the spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend is a easy fall guy, top that off by the fact that everyone starts pointing fingers and they are scot free
Yah there are many public figures and high powered people who gets away with sick sick SICK sheeetz. Some of the cleanest face is the dirtiest people.
