I have an oscar who is a year old in a 75 gallon. I am thinking of getting another fish in the tank, any advice of which fish get a long well with the oscar? There are no other fish in the tank currently

Maybe a lima shovelnose, if you're in the us there's a 99% chance you'll get a sub species which only gets to 1 foot.
Maybe a school of silver dollars?
Giant danios for an expensive snack/ dither?
Do NOT get pictus catfish unless you want to play russian roulette with your fishes life, both of them. Any catfish really unless they're too big to eat.
I've never heard of this before but perhaps a ropefish? It's too big to eat but it could just kill it.
A bichir is good if it's too big to eat.
Maybe a fire mouth cichlid.
There are a lot more options once you hit 180 and up.
A 120, not 125, offers a few more options since it's 2 feet longer.
A 90 offers no more options then a 75 since it's only a bit higher then the 75.

Its so tempting to want to add another big flashy cichlid, but that's probably not the way to go. You might consider a small school of a smaller variety Silver Dollar, such as the Maculatus (Spotted). Maybe build a clean up crew with four or five Y. Modesta (Red Tail) Loaches. I've successfully kept both listed species with large Cichlids. Very nice looking, active tankmates.
If you do go with the silver dollars (go with spotted or tiger striped since they're small) then make sure to get big ones. I got small ones and my oscar tried to eat them.
I'd worry more about the oscar being 9 inches and the clown loach being 3 inches.... Expensive snack I'd say and possibly a death sentence.
Yeah but I mean if he’s getting a baby oscar, if he has a oscar over around 6” I think you would need the clown loaches bigger. If the oscar is under 6” then the clown loaches will have enough time to grow big enough to not be eaten by a full grown oscar
That's why I think the Y. Modesta Botia is the way to go. Not quite as pretty and doesn't grow as large as the Clowns, but is a stocky, very active Loach. Probably the best scavenger fish I have.
Well if he gets the loaches at 4” and the oscar at 4”, the average oscar growth is about 1” a month so it would be about about 8 months for the oscar to be full grown and a loach can easily grow 2-3” in 8 months
