I have a 75 g aquarium cycling atm. I have most of the stocking figured out but I was wondering whats a fish that will stay towards the bottom (pleco, loaches, catfish, etc) that will go with my stocking plans. I would like something active unlike the banjo cats and fire eel I have now:D

Stocking
4 Firemouth cichlids
10 red-eyed tetras
6 congo tetras

FIRST OF ALL I recommend you go all out south American, replace the congo tetras with a south American 3 inch tetra like Columbians, BA tetras, penguin tetras...

BOTTOM DWELLERS:
Well, good south American bottom dwellers can be:
- Ghost shrimp (Look cool, good until fish r able to start catching them, but are dame cheap, and because they are so cool i tend to just keep buying them, sometimes they get 2 inches and fish will ignore them, now you have a pet ghost shrimp lol)
- Corys (Range in more verity then choices of colored underwear)
- PortHoplos/ Marbled Port Hoplo/ Hoplo Catfish (My fav, looks like a 6inch cory catfish and is darn well the cutest-durpiest thing you'll ever see of both worlds, VERY HARLESS TO MOST FISHS OF DIFFERENT SIZE EH)
- Spotted Pictus cat (They get to be about 6 inchs, have big mouths and feed like pirhanas sometimes, they will not harm any fish that you plan to stock and are beautiful silver swimmers, only thing is they can stress out your fish and there whiskers can anoy fish)

I like the look of the hoplos do they need to be kept in group or singles? And would 8 diamond tetras be a better fit for the tank? Thanks for the reply!

Yes I love the look of the Port Hoplos, make sure they are port hoplos or Marbled Hoplos, regular hoplos are one solid colour. They dont really need to be in a group, but i would go with at least 2, male female or 2 females, males may fight with each other, I have never kept them and they seem to be rare here in toronto, I AM LITERALLY DIEING TO GET SUM :(. Di mound tetras are one of the up most colorful 3 inch tetra, i would go with 9 just cause, and bring the red eyed tetra up to 12 fish.

Hoplo inspiration, love this tank, its looks so cool:

Try this out, it can give you a rought idea of your stocking, its on the conservative side
