3 or 4 blue acara would make me happy over the green terror. That's also why I changed to peacock eels over the fire eel.

What's the best chance for me to get the wild blue acara? I also wouldn't be against the geophagus topajo I liked how they looked as well.

Ive had my topajo about two years now and its just at 4". Got really nice color and streamers.
Ive had eba also and loved them mine got to about 4" also then tank cracked. Luckily they survived but had to go to the lfs.
Wild type acaras are available here pretty regularly but I think there may be a breeder near by. Same for eba. Topajo seem to be seasonal I should have jumped on the ones I found at the begining of summer but I had just got 14 Congo tetras. Would have been a better fit since I had to emergency evac the congos after 1 got swallowed and another lost 3 fins all in about 5 mins of hitting the water the other day. And the males are huge! 3" easy. I have a 2" blackskirt that just chills and no one even looks at him. Add Congo tetras and all of a sudden its feeding time. Lol

Ok looks like my 100 gallon and 150 gallon tanks are going to be put on hold for a wile.

However I am going to move forward with the 50 gallon sump to tank conversion with a DIY internal filtration system.

I know this is the Monster fish forum but I hope my smaller tank build will still be welcome.

I am thinking to do 5 internal chambers. first being filter floss possibly with some bio media, second being bio media and carbon, third to be a algae growth chamber to lower nitrites (or is it Nitrates I mix them up all the time) 4th will be a heater and 5th will be a pump.

Any thing i am over doing or missing?
