LOL, good one Barrett. I stand corrected on the pronunciation, but the kok terminology has in my mind been incorrect all along. I don't typically speak in Hokkien dialect, or Mandarin, or even French Canadian. lol I've even slipped a few times over the years and used the term kok, but I think if you search hard enough you'll see where I have corrected the unwashed FH masses many times over the years - and not just about this. Things like you need to keep their temp at 82-86 F, or one shouldn't use a black background, or their "hump" consist of fat, or one needs specialty (read expensive) power nutrient FH food to get a massive hump, or brighter pearls, or whatever crap someone is attempting to sell.
I certainly wasn't intending to insult or question anyone's native tongue, I simply feel that the younger generation might as well learn about the ways of the FH in an educated manner, vs some kind of ancient Asian magical mystery. The species of fish that make up the various FH strains, are all New World cichlids, not Asian species, hence my use of the term nuchal hump. When in Rome ….
