Thank you. Yeah I was worried so I went shotgun approach. Very upsetting because I thought all along my rhom died from HITH but pretty sure it was the voltage leakage that lead to hit death, then my first aimara, and then the gatf.
Right, I forgot about the voltage leak. That's freaky. This the first and the only time I come across this, probably no one even thinks of it, I certainly haven't ever, but it looks like you did nail down the voltage as the primary reason.

I never thought voltage leakage would effect fish in a tank, I wouldn't notice the leak unless I am barefoot and put my hand in the tank.

Thought the same. I've shocked myself pretty badly before, it's not fun! But maybe the movement of voltage through the water creates some issue?

headbanger_jib headbanger_jib and Hendre Hendre I have to look for the articles but there were a bunch of studies that essentially low voltage in the aquarium that we cannot feel but the fish can feel causes significant stress. That stress in turn leads to lateral head disease, lack of eating, other diseases, etc. Took lots of googling to find the various articles. I got a voltage meter and tested every piece of equipment to confirm there was voltage in the water.

It would be great if you could help with the links(if and only if you have time and you can), as this is a question that does come up.

I always assumed fish wouldn't be bothered with the stray current, as the tank is completely insulated from earthing, and thus the circuit not being able to be completed and cause any problems.

The whole thread was a great read, the detailed process and results is simply a great read.
