80GAL Tank Build

Hey friends. New member posting my predator tank build progress as it comes along. So far I have acquired and 80GAL tank that I have stripped and am going to reseal in next few days. I have also purchased a Fluval 406 filter with year supply of media. Icecap 3K Gyre flow for water circulation. I plan on building a custom stand to house tank/filtration. I will be doing a sand substrate in this tank. I will appreciate any and all tips and feedback to further my build and my knowledge as I know I still have a lot to learn.

Well within the last week my large Senegal bichir for this tank got stressed and died and my beautiful silver arowana for this tank jumped out and died. But I’m prepping my clown knife, black ghost knife, smaller senegal, albino Senegal and 2 Delhezi bichirs. Also my silver tiger datnoid and synodontis catfish. I am in the market for a red arowana once I get this up and running

This will be a grow out for about a year until I source and prep a larger tank to my liking for the fish said above. I’m also trying to source a diamond sturgeon for down the road

“Absolutely Fish” in Clifton NJ has some sturgeon. I see you are from NY so depending on where, it may be close ebnough for you to get to.

Thanks. Do they have a website or are they just a local fishery? I’m in central NY but either way I’ll keep them in mind because I don’t mind a nice drive especially if I can get some quality fish out of it

I went there only once about a month ago so I don’t know much about it but I saw they had some sturgeon.
It’s a big place and it took me and my wife almost an hour to work our way through. I need to get back there because they had 75 gallon tanks for 100 bucks.
