I did a test on the site for my area / zip code
100 lbs 121.92
standard shipping 38.91
sign up newsletter option gives 10 percent discount
the other mailing options are obviously too expensive (and kind of unecessary, really since its a 3 day ship for standard)
based on zip code, maybe your area is higher I dunno. Also, you will not need the amount stated on the sand calculator! Go between 50 -70 percent. It's your decision in any case I don't know the size of your tank.
Later I will post pics of all my fish once Patch and Boss are in their 40 gallon setups. I'm waitng on the stands. Good luck.

It's kinda weird... if you're in Washington state you're a lot closer to Canada than I am! You'd think the shipping would be less.
Thanks for the information. I have all different sized ranging from a 50-30-15-10s-5s. I have a blue crown tail betta in a ten with neon & cardinal tetras & little habrosis catfish with plants and different shades of blue gravel, I may convert that tank to partial sand, like I did with another tank. It is a really nice look green gravel, striated pinnacle rocks creating underwater chasms ending in a glowing white sand desert with a few plants. It is one environment transitioning into another. And the Torpedo Beach Sand just about glows.
The other betta tank I want to convert is a 5 with just a blue betta some plants, striated rocks, and River Gems miniature agate pepples. He doesn't get along with the female, so I will get him some other fish. I also have those in my castle tank. I may mix the Sandtastik green sand with the agates or keep the sand by itself. I will do small test mix.
I will look at those all Sandtastik colors you mentioned too. I like their largely varied pallete of colors. I am thinking a brown, and tan, or brown mix might satisfy the muted habitat needs of the fish, but also make the colors of the fish pop.
I am checking at local hobby stores, big chain stores and online. The product is reasonably priced, I don't know what kind of import tariff was charged. Problem is that because of weight, shipping is high.

I seen Sandtastik priced as low as $1.39 a pound. Which is about what paid, when I broke down the price per pound, for CaribSea Torpedo Beach Sand. Which is a decent price for a premium aquatic sand.

That price per pound is consistent with what's on site...U can go down to single pound packs I think.

Yes, but they want $17 or more for shipping. I found a site for $25. for 10lbs of brick + $3 shipping. Someone I know is going for the Brick color of Sandtastik, so I will let him know. That is an eBay vender called Hayneedle. On the first few pages of the eBay pages of Sandtastik. I took a look at the coffee, expresso, mocha latte. I came across those. I will have to refer back to the manufacturer's site to look at the others. I saw some the variety packs but basic colors and really just interested in the green there. I like your teal a lot but the Betta would fade away into that color. I am still hunting.

It seems as though the less you order the more shipping is...I will look at Ebay and see what they have, I'm thinking about purple or navy blue for the 40 gallon setups. Only problem i ran across with ebay before was lack of color variety / availability. Will compare shipping...

I just finished looking on eBay, there is about 8 pages. Some decent deals , even on shipping on 25lbs, some not so good deals. I think I saw purple on there, but might have been somewhere else. I was focusing on brick, green and hot pink. :) I will keep an eye out now for good deals on purple and navy as well.

The 8 pages are mostly just the Sandtastik colored sand deals.

That will work...I'm coordinating colors with the backgrounds I ordered. I could even mix those with the Carribean mist color I still have.
Are these for doing art in your teal tank, or for different aquariums. Have you checked eBay yet. I just started checking Amazon.com.
