There is no such thing as a true freshwater moray eel. They should be kept in brackish. Actually a tiger moray eel in a brackish tank with the water cow would be optimal and would work better than any of the other stuff above.
I mentioned this in the previous pages but I would like to not have a brackish tank. I understand about the eels though so I’m still just wondering about larger bichirs?

I think you should talk to the poly pros about this. Anyhow I still don't think it will work but if you have your heart set on it, polypterus enlichieri, congicus, delhezi, and other lower jaws would suffice. However with such an elongated form as a bichir has, the water cow will be able to eat it. You need to make it longer than the water cow and none other than the record-holding bichirs are going to pass 20 in.

If you want the safest thing, I would say a fire eel.

most gars need a really big tank, same for most bichirs. Fire eels are mostly recommended in smaller tanks... they do get around 1 meter so I dont know why they are recommended in smaller tanks then 2meter, and I personally think that 2meters is way to small for a fire eel

B3RSERKER B3RSERKER please give us minimum tank size so we can help you out with this.
I'm not entirely sure yet as I dont know what I should accommodate for in the tank, I was and am planning on only having one Water Cow. I was simply just seeing what I could have with the creature as I want to know some capabilities of what I can do with the tank. Thx

Incorrect. Polyuranadon is freshwater.

Don’t necessarily agree with all the info given.

I know I said that I might only have the Water Cow but I’m wondering if whether or not certain species would work with it, I predict some wouldnt already but it’s worth a shot:
Bichir
Catfish, if so which catfish would work?
Arrowana
Black Ghost Knifefish
Ropefish
Gar
Species of eel
A simple yes or no to these species would be greatly appreciated. I’m just wondering whether or not these fish would coexist... also don’t worry about the tank size because that can be arranged. Just looking to see which fish could be with the Water Cow Goby
LJ species of bichir will work. Also ornate and teug. Gar will work. For aro you’ll need minimum of 2.5’ width if black or ausie so that depends on you, but yes can work, only thing ausie May bully a water cow, and you want a black over a foot so it doesn’t get eaten. Ropes no. If you mean spiny eels, the larger species like tire track or fire eel can work just need to be big enough not to be eaten same as aro. Cats are good as well depending one te species, water cows are push overs ime, they’ll try to establish dominance in the beginning but if put in place they don’t try to go up in the hierarchy ime. I treat the oscars as far as tankmates. Bgk will work as long as they’re big enough not to be eaten ime.
