Why don't people understand how data collection works?
The amount of people tonight I had ask/tell me "I'm on a no call list! How did you get my number?" was spastic. I'd say every third or fourth call I got asked.
For those wondering, the company I work for gets the numbers I call from another company... Who buy them from facebook, department stores, utility companies and so on.
If people bothered to read the privacy statements of such companies they'd notice that a lot of companies have a thingy in their privacy statement saying something like they "may share your details with their partners and associates"
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to yell people that, instead I have to politely give them the details of the company we get our numbers from and tell them to contact them..

There's a special place in hell for the cars extended warranty people.
Yep. I get that one at least twice per week. I now have a loud sports whistle from the dollar store sitting next to the phone just for those people
I used to get calls from them at least a few times a week but then I started answering them and telling them that I don't own a car which confused the heck out of them. I haven't got a call from them for a few months now, knock on wood.
I also got calls from the 'switch electric company promos' people and told them I don't have electricity at my home so I don't need their services! I either tell them I use propane or I have a water wheel generator that supplies my electricity so I'm not on the grid.
