Blue crayfish changing color?

My blue crayfish was perfectly blue and the shell looked great. After his first molt, however, his tail began turning a reddish color and I notice the bottom part of his right claw was brown and cut off at the tip. I have him in a salt bath right now in case of shell rot, but I'm wondering why the tail is starting to turn red. If anyone can give me suggestions on what is going on or how to treat, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good to hear that.
I now know why she was getting red. 2 weeks ago she started borrowing like crazy. This week when I did my major change, I pulled her tree trunk up with her accidentally still in it and she had black, fertile eggs underneath her tail! She must have been with a male in the pet store without me knowing. I have her in a separate quarantine box just so I can watch the progress. I may make or buy a divider for the tank to see if I can raise the babies. I have a 40 gallon tank so there is plenty of room I can designate to the other fish and mama cray while letting the babies grow in a 5-10 gallon section of the same tank.
