Hi recently been treating my flowerhorn fish for ich for about a month now with daily water changes of 50% and added salt 1tbsp per 5gallons as well as methylene blue medication. However it seems nothing is working. I notice his skin has some layer of mucus.

Did you raise the temperature, if you did then I'm not sure if that is ich. As for the new layer of mucus, that is from the salt and is perfectly normal, it's actually beneficial

Yes have been raising the heat and keeping it stable at 86. Thats a relief, I thought it was fungus. :(

A little salt 1 tsp per g and clean water should clear up the excess slime coat production. Would reduce the temps down to 78. It’s not ich or fungus.

Update: I've turned down the heat for the 12hours and he's all better now :D!
