Ok a week ago in the previous thread I posted some flowerhorns I'm getting since a friend was moving. I got this Box Body Red Dragon in exchange of some SRD babies and put it in a temp basement tank, in the partition i put a female that I separated from a breeding pair because I was not planning on breeding due to time and space constraints. Two days in the partition and this morning I go to feed and find the female had jumped the partition and was gliding in circles with the male and cleaning the glass floor. So I threw in a plastic plate, switched off the filters, put in an airstone and went to sleep. Woke up to find too many eggs guarded and aerated by the pair. No sign of fighting or battle wounds or aggression between the pair.
Now since I'm to flowerhorns what should I do and expect? I did add a cap full of blue liquid to save the eggs from fungus.
Considering the male is mature and fertile help me with whats next. I do not have brine shrimp or daphnia or vinegar eels. Any readily available fry food? Any DIY fry food recipes? (Boiled egg yolk?) When do I separate them? When do I add the filter and do a water change? Lighting no lighting? Feeding to parents? (They are eating all the time even now when I drop in pellets) Any idea about the babies and if I should grow out some?
Attaching the video Parents with eggs. And some images.
