Lol I'm only mosquito larvae level in the YouTube world my friend -- we ain't nothin' (nor making a red cent) til we've got at least 1,000 subs / 4,000 view hours in a month (and truth be told I really don't strive to be a YouTube star, besides being quite happy with my long-time careers I simply wouldn't want the pressure of continually having to pump out (esp. original) vids -- in that biz you snooze, you lose. Also making and editing videos to a proper level are very time intensive -- you start spending more time on all the set-up and production stuff than actually taking care of and enjoying your fish.

Anyway you're younger, (probably) better looking and have a gorgeous wife and adorable daughter to help, you'll go way farther than me, I just got an old hound dog and a teenage daughter I never see because she has a phone glued to her face

I’m just curious why no one here has even mentioned predatory fins? Rod is great, he’s a great stage presence , he deals with all the fish we typically like, and there is never a dull moment. He seems to keep it real, unlike lots of the other youtubers mentioned (except dloks and Barrett). The reason I don’t find joey very appealing is a sense of disengenuity. I can’t stand catchemall because he seems so fake.

I am not a you tube critic or even a big fan, but I have watched most likely 20+ predatory fins videos and I haven’t seen a crappy one yet. He’s done all sorts of cool tours all over Asia, build threads, collaborations, moving videos. I still haven’t seen a bad one. He may not have a ton of current subs but I can see him blowing all these others out of the water- pun intended.

Curious about every ones thoughts on this channel.

Good point about Predatory Fins Matthew, in fact I subbed them about a month ago; as you say they're pretty much the most monster-fish oriented YT channel and certainly deserve more subs/views.

Overall enjoy watching them (though like quite a few commenters wish they'd cut out the increasing meme stuff). And agreed their recent trips to Chinese and Thai farms & markets have been pretty cool videos. Surprised though they didn't visit Chatuchak aquarium market in Bangkok, maybe no time, but they would've seen some great fish.

Edit: As a side point, love him or hate him, it appears that Paul Cuffaro is now only 30,000 subs behind Joey for #1 -- at the rate he's gaining maybe in the next couple of months he might actually pass him (even if most of his followers seem to be clueless teenybopper fans).

Paul cuffaro is like the justin bieber of fish keeping. No talent but infinite numbers of tween fangirls. Taylor nicole dean still gains subscribers even though she only posts once every few months. Exoctics lair is second in pets but no aquarium videos that i have seen. Dustin has been on youtube for approximately 99999999999 years but still has less than 200,000 subscribers. He might be one of the oldest channels on the platform thats still active. Cory seems to be slipping lately. Rachel oleary is doing well enough in the slow and steady race. The only way that joey is keeping his crown is to get more tween fangirls (paul cuffaro method), get a thin attractive blonde girl to do his videos (snake discovery method) or grow a pair of dds and do videos 99.99999% naked (taylor nocole dean method). Otherwise hes toast.

I'm not jealous of you, I'm jealous of my damn fish. I risk my life in extreme sports videos and am lucky to get 500-2,000 views and 4 or 5 likes. My Kamfa's best video has over 46,000 views and 354 likes sob...

And you now have 2 subs -- you (and my darn Kamfa) are on your way to YouTube stardom bro!
