That’s crazy! True monster tank fish look super healthy too. The rays are monsters.

Yeah its an amazing tank. His jau catfish is about 120 i think it was if i dont recall it wrong. I speek to steinar every now and then. I got my brachyplatystoma vaillantii from suriname through him.

I’ve got an all glass 10x3x3 and and all glass 10foot x40inch x 2 foot I’ve moved both from place to place and I just transport on the stand Both times only took 4 blokes to lift the 10x3x3 is all 15mm glass and the other is 12mm sides and 15mm base most tanks in Australia are glass acrylic is insanely expensive. There no were near as daunting to move as you would think View attachment 1396084View attachment 1396085View attachment 1396087

Those are amazing.
Have you had any issues? Any bowing, or major scratches, hazing?
Are tanks that size in Australia always built with metal framing or did you add/request that?

Pretty much all the tanks I’ve seen over 180 gallon are universally on steel frames down here even the tanks themselves are pretty well all built the same way. I’ve had no issues with bowing or scratching being glass. I’d definitely say don’t be scared I’ve heard of a few 12x4x3 tanks around that size that have been built and delivered it’s no different then moving a 180 just heavier haha

Thanks for the perspective.
I love glass, it's hard to explain but it just looks better. Weight isn't a problem I moved my current 360 by myself onto a stand. I got big friends too lol

I'll keep looking and researching. Seems the saltwater guys are the only ones messing with glass tanks over 300 gallons these day's

SHOWOFF!
*jealous*

I've seen almost 20k gallon glass aquariums like that. My question is has anyone owned a standard shaped fish tank style aquarium over 600 gallons. Custom stuff like this is great as its built into the foundation of the home. I'm looking for something like this

It’s done but it’s rare. It is hard to get glass panes that are in the size for 1000+ gallons which means it will always be custom. Most manufacturers deal with acrylic at that size or doing something like fiberglass with a large glass window. Low iron is purely based on personal opinion. Onbviously the thicker the glass the bigger the impact. The other concern with all glass is the tank needs to be siliconed which doesn’t last forever vs acrylic is welded.

Even with industrial grade silicone you think failure is inevitable with glass tanks? I would think that would be covered under warranty, no?
