big cats... definitely would not try to house one again with any shiny long silver snacks...

I’m not going to ask for the RTC back unless he offers, I’d imagine in 2 years or so I’ll have built a pond/fiberglass tank...

Need to build deck above, do a proper retaining wall, cut a tree down, and probably get solar on my roof as it most likely will be an energy hog....

going to make sure I have the proper Infrastructure first...

I've seem the Jardini everywhere for $100... it’s just the Leichardti not so much other that LFS in Australia, they are not going to ship me one fish... I’m not even sure of the import regulations...

Thanks all for the comments!

Quality Aquatics has them occasionally at the price point I mentioned. Not that I have to justify myself to you.
Im sure it was nothing personal. We just like substantiated information on MFK. I've not seen 6" leichardti available and shipped for that low either. Sure you can find a great deal at whatever lfs in the country once in a blue moon, but thats hardly a reliable gauge of market price.

I paid via PayPal.... if I don’t see it by the end of the month I’ll submit a claim, I don’t want to create bad blood with the guy.... want him to do a good job.... I think his jobs take him 6 months... I should have asked more questions up front, trying to support local and all that....

the sump and stand are done... I’m told...

Fish Tank
Jardini can be found cheaper online, well under $100. Before shipping of course.

As I have always said, from firsthand experience, adult RTC and arowana are incompatible. As it was in my case I believe was in the case of this LFS owner, an arowana would attempt to jump or spook and hit its head and get discombobulated for a bit, enough for an RTC to try to take advantage and attempt to swallow the aro, stressing and injuring it even if not succeeding. This is what our RTCs have done to our several aro males, who had to be taken out of the main tank and recovered but eventually the RTCs killed in the same way our only aro female, who has not recovered.
When possible I like to buy from my LFS even knowing that I can get cheaper online. I prefer to see in person and my kids like the experience of taking it home...I do too actually;-).

I bought my first jar a month ago for my new tank and paid too much I know. But it looked different than the other ones there, to me, so I s/he was it.

That's a pretty good price for a lei. And the photo looks correct, not a jardini or any other.

Granted $125 is on special, whatever it means. The usual price is, as BFTD stated, is $225. Thank you for this piece of info.

Not that I have to justify myself to you.
Let's help each other, guys! Why not view it as being, plain and simple, nice to the OP, DN328, me, and a thousand others? After all this is a public worldwide forum. Is it objectionable to be nice and easy-going? :) No need to reply, if you don't want to repeat the bit about the justification, in this case to nobody me :) We will learn to accept and appreciate you just as (cactusy but helpful as) you are :)

Whatever man, keep making excuses.
Go ahead and inquire about ordering one. Let us all know how it goes. the whole story please, with a quote for at least close to a 6" leichardti, packaging and shipping costs to your door, somewhere around whatever amount you were suggesting.

Like i said, you're gonna need to substantiate your trash talk with some actual facts. You shouldn't just jump on the OP with your frugal shaming and have nothing legitimate or current to base your opinion on.
