120G - African Biotope - Suggestions

I’m on the fence on the bottom crew, if it’s 3 - bichir and an l114 (only comes out at night)

I don’t want the Bichir to have competition for food....

Came across this guy... does this seem pricey? And this other guy, probably too small and future snack...

Anyone kept the red eye tetra? Seem maybe little bigger..

Looking for Bichir that’s not $400 (Turk)

The African red eye tetra is a cool tetra I've had them. Unfortunately they will become snacks. They are about the same size as Congo tetras a little thinner top to bottom though. Not sure on the cat fish size wise, most cat fish are nocturnal.

A zebrinha is on my SA tank list, I’ll look into see if there is african.

I think with maybe getting a bit full

Got two polys n a knife coming.

Think the leaf / butterfly are available local...

Gotta find a place for 4 SD’s in there, CL dude flaked... May add to 625g ?

Constructive ideas for the wood? Should it be more of a pile? One seems to go into one of the logs, or they hang out together in the corner. Soon if there are 4 it’s gonna be tight in the corner there ?

Got some activity today ?

Fish were all packed well and heat packs still warm... box was not labeled live fish however...

Shippers bags were some of the thicker I’ve seen though,

Little bit more feces in the bags than with other orders, I know some suppliers starve their fish before sending...

I’m grateful they all arrived safe! In qt for a week them moved to 120g.

Kind of gives me the poly itch... I see how the Bichir population can get out of control!

This is my second purpose driven / planned tank vs throwing a bunch of randos in a tank and calling it good... better route...

I say butterfly and maybe instead of a leaf fish you can get a ctempoma
