Reworked the wood to accommodate the knife, it’s now pretty dark towards the back...

Got the 4 sd’s out -

I’ll have to research how aggressively the leaf and butterfly fish eat. The knife eats slow it seems and is not good competing...

Probably going to scratch the Congo’s as I’d presume they eat aggressively... I’d presume the cichlid - jewel / humphead are also aggressive eaters...

Thanks all for input!

Butterfly fish will eat when something hits the water usually. You will need a floating food for them if not. Alot won't eat anything but crickets at first. Ctenopoma are an ambush predator mostly so as food sinks through the water collum they'll hit it. The Congos in a large group will probably distract either of them. I would also worry that the Congos will be eaten eventually. I think the jewels would be ok and not to boisterous, but could be quite aggressive.

Oh I just went back and was reading stuff I probably missed. I just realized that the knife is an afer? I've never had one,but I've heard they are super agro and get really big 24"+. Correct me if I'm wrong. I had to work both jobs today and don't feel like googling any info right now. Maybe tomorrow at job 1 ill have some free time to play on the internet.

Yes, yes, and yes... seems one of his is bigger 24” - grew over years, and his other does not grow it seems and is smaller...

Talked to krichardson, he has two it seems...

One solo and one with bass and others...

So, maybe the butterfly up top with floating food and the afer and Bichir down below feeding on sinking massivore...

I’ll have to see what all may be an option...

The QT group is doing good in a 40g eating pellets, tilapia, and prawns!

Thanks all!

I’ve never ordered from this place.... heard another member had trouble with a Bichir...

Got a free catfish as I had to spend more for free shipping...

Also was only vender that had the leaf and the quantity of butterfly fish...

Last weeks group coming out of QT Tuesday, all eating well, afer out swimming...

Butterfly fish will hammer stuff that drops on the surface IME. Also, is that knifefish an afer or regular nigri?

Afer - seems they can be aggro - it’s 5” currently - out swimming with the lights on in the qt tank - it’s new home is much darker than the qt
