As a keeper of a single red i can say they have more personality alone and i can pet mine time to time.

I agree! I think when you keep them alone they aren't as stressed out from other fish trying to take a bite out of them.

He did damage? I know some of the mid/large cichlids can make you bleed but my old flowerhorn wouldnt really do too much damage (other than some little blood)considering how badly he wanted to kill me.. my Jack's teeth just feel like sand paper

I don't know the exact hybrid it was but you could see the little teeth protruding from his lower jaw

Yep He's kept alone due to injuries from when i rescued him
