Now I have seen this kind of thing before when I kept guppies. Had it where they had ich spread thru the tank like wildfire and once I got them all cured they had hole like spots on em from where the ich was attached. Literally made it look like the fish had bites taken out of em. Who knows maybe something similar happened to these angels and they were just recently cured of ich before shipment. Granted without knowing how they were kept we'll probably never know the true cause of it.

I didn’t treat with anything at the time, it was close to 10 years ago and I wasn’t very fish knowledgeable at the time. The holes looked exactly like yours though...little flesh wounds that looked like raw skin.

i can only wish you better luck with treatment.
Good to know thanks. They have all passed except a blue silver and a blushing platinum. The blue silver has classic symptoms of Hex, facing the corners, spitting food, now not eating at all, clear stringy poop. So i'm almost convinced it was a couple different issues that were throwing me off.

I don't think I can save the blue silver :( But I am going to move the platium to a new QT tank with new seasoned media ect and no meds. This one has normal poop, it's eating well and looks good, nice and responsive, I think she (or he) might make it. I'll prob toss in a few IALs too.

When fish start spitting food I usually treat with metroplex. Then a round of prazipro upon completion of metroplex. I have always found if you don’t start treatment with the metroplex when you see them spit food immediately then it was usually too late a couple of days later....when they spit pellets I immediately get a frozen food they cannot resist like mysis, blood worms, or brine shrimp and mix it up with the metroplex, let it soak for 15-20 minutes and feed it to them.

That's the thing, I didn't notice a problem for 2 months. Then all of a sudden I saw an angel had a pinhole in the middle of its dorsal fin. Then that same angel suddenly stopped eating well and just declined. That same day I lost the 1st, I noticed the white pit in the forehead of another. Then another angel turned around and I saw the hole! So I was totally thrown off. Like everything hit at once. I tried the mblue and salt because that's what I had. Didn't help. They kept dying one by one until i'm down to 2. I wish I asked for help here earlier, but honestly I don't even know where to get Metro.

On a separate note, should I feed the platinum (cuz the blue silver is not eating) epsom salt soaked food again? Garlic?

Hmmm weird. Not sure what I would do in that situation. Not sure if Epsom salt would have any effect but I could see garlic potentially doing atleast some good if it's something parasitic. Most parasites don't like garlic.

Niki_up Niki_up Do you think it's not too late for the blue silver if I try treating with Metro in the water? Or try force feeding or something irresistible like you suggest? Only trouble is the stuff I have is prob expired. I can't seem to source it :(

Ok thanks. I will continue the vitamins (Vitachem) and add garlic to food. Can't hurt.
Yeah can't really do anymore damage then what's been done already.

I know I have a hard time keeping angels but that's just due to the water in my town having such a high PH and ammonia content. The PH here is roughly 8.6-9, out of the tap, and the ammonia is usually around .30.

Tried complaining to the city water supplier but they just told me to STFU and go away (on FaceBook no less) if I don't like it. Lol if I could move I would but that ain't going to happen for some time yet.

Oh yea, you cannot get metro in Canada...I have one left from before the ban....I would use it if it were expired, it might just not be as effective or less potent.

I always found treating metro in the water column was wasteful, that’s why I liked the feeding method.
