Wolf Fish with white spot on eye (with pics)

Hello MFK!

my wolffish developed a white spot on the outer lens of its eyes a while back and I assumed it would have gone away through water changes. Its been some time (6 months) and its eyes has not cleared up. I've tried paraguard, Melafix, Pimafix, and salt. but nothing seems to clear it up. The wolf is the only one with the white spot on its eyes, and my other two fish are perfectly fine (Ace F barracuda and Striped pike characin).

here are the specs of the tank they're in

55 gallon aquarium
10 gallon K1 Moving bed sump.
80f degree water.
70% water change every week with Seachem Safe.

Anyone have any recommendations? my buddies said it could be from smashing against stuff in the tank but all thats in there is a hydor water jet up top, two heaters, and a somewhat large sponge filter for extra mechanical filtration.

Recommendations please! The wolf eats just fine and like a pig, but i wouldent want it to go blind in the future if the spot gets larger.

That’s a good sized erythrinus wolf. Not sure about trauma being the cause but there’s a concern for cataracts or low pH. What’s ur pH? Is it stable?

not sure about my PH, i dont really adjust anything with the water, i just kinda fill it up with tap water and seachem safe. for the most part im sure its pretty stable unless theres issues with my local water fluctuating. and thanks! its like...10.5in or so. and its still fat hah..

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but what was your solution? I have the identical issue with one of my black wolves. His eye injury was also caused from trauma. He was extremely agitated initially when I moved him to a larger tank. Anyway he eats very well and my tank parameters are good 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 20 Nitrate, PH 7.6. It hasn’t affected him in any other way but I’m still concerned. It’s been 2 weeks since it occurred without much change. I have also treated him with melafix, and salt.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi, my wolfs eyes never healed, but it never got worse. It was still eating normally and it didn't seem to effect his well being. For the most part I just tried to keep my water as clean as possible

Try to get the nitrites down. Shows some instability in the water. Also I’d wait it out as trauma can’t be dealt with meds properly. Cont to provide clean water and give it time.

Thank you very much. My nitrites are 0, along with my ammonia, only my nitrates are 20. I’ll just keep ensuring his water is pristine.
