yeah, after both died I told myself "Never again!" the one LFS I got the clown from is usually a good store.

my mom has a 1.5 gallon tank, don't see her much. every time I am at her house she tells me to clean it and we go get fish. because she sucks at keeping them alive. Your lucky

Its great to hear that. My Mother is no longer with us but she is the reason why I love fishkeeping.

i'm sorry for your loss.....I no longer live with my mom, but I can't imagine losing her. much love man.
