Hi, I would like to ask for some advices from you guys about feeding.

Currently i own one 6 or 7 cm long tiger barb who is still 2,5 years old. His tank mate which is also a tiger barb with similar size and age recently passed away. I think the cause is dropsy or air bladder dysfunction (i will post the picture of it below) that is probably appeared befause of overfeeding or poor water or maybe both. I used to feed them twice daily with hikari sinking wafer pellet and one cube frozen blood worm per each day. Oh yeah, and also shredded shrimp for occasional treats since i fed my bichir and bush fish with frozen shrimp.

That's why i want to ask you guys should i keep feeding my tiger barb daily with that much food? Or should i reduce the portion? Or maybe you guys suggest that my fish are underfed?

For additional information, I currently have one 11 or 12 cm leopard bush fish with similar age, one 8 or 9 cm rainbow shark which is 1,5 years old, and one 14 cm marbled bichir that is 8 months old. They live in 29 or 30 gal tank (?) with one eheim skimmer and one boyu internal filter with 500 l/h output. I am not planning to add more fish since I realized it is pretty much overloaded and the bichir have to be relocated soon.

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english and20200809_021501.jpg if my post is too long

I'd cut the portion in half. The fish neither looks emaciated nor overfed.

Also, I'm going to say it: you need to get that tiger barb more of its kind. At least 5 if not 7 of them. Either increase the filtration capacity or something, but I don't think it's responsible for you to keep a naturally schooling/shoaling fish by itself or in a pair.

Okay. I will reduce the portion then.

I used to have 6 of them but they died just in one or two years. Yeah, I think I should exchange my filter to accomodate more tiger barb..
