Stopped by Lowe's picked up a couple 6" clay pots, cut out the bottoms and sanded edges smooth.

Decided to add one to opposite ends of the tank.

Had added a couple extra tall plants in tank too. Hoping to give a little more cover to the fish. These guys are playing pretty rough with each other and I think Im going to have to run a divider sooner than later.

Hello DMD123 DMD123 ,
Those flower pots are awesome. I've bottomed out some clay pots with a large screwdriver and a hammer before. I used a metal file for the sharp edges.

What I want to know is how you cut out the bottom of the pot so perfectly and cleanly. What tools did you use?

Angle grinder with diamond blade. Ive also used that to cut slate to make bases for driftwood pieces.

Thanks for the reply DMD123 DMD123 . I'm gonna see if my brother has an angle grinder that I can use. Very cool looking driftwood. Did you collect that wood yourself, because it's pretty sweet. I really don't know where to find driftwood near me. Online driftwood is quite exspensive and you really don't know exactly what you're getting.

These are Mopani pieces purchased from months of searching all my local pet stores. Most of these pieces I usually end up finding in the reptile sections of the stores. I love the look of Mopani in the tank but hate the amount of tannins you have to deal with.

One week update pics, hard to capture each fish so what you are seeing are ones that came out for multiple pics.

These guys are brutal with each other. You can see lots of torn fins because of the aggression. They have a tendency to not back down to each other, so even though a pecking order is in place there is no fish cowering in the corner. They all are at each other, lol.

This week will likely be a week of setting up dividers and possibly rehoming two. Then I can focus on four for a bit and then cut down to three, then final two. At this point I could easily keep two if I wanted but would really like just one with the other 90g opening up for another project.

Rehomed a few other fish to open up tanks for trimac growout space. Already moved one out solo due to injury. Not because of aggression but it looks like it may have got stuck under my large Mopani log and tried to free itself by shear force. Its face on both sides was scraped and right eye clouded. This was actually the largest one. Anyway pulled him and he is solo in a 65B to heal. I think I will divide both 90’s and I have picked my 4 keepers and the first two to rehome.

Well over the past couple days I am seeing an interesting bit of behavior. I would guess that there may be a female in the mix. In the tank with the 5 fish, there are two that are just a bit too “friendly”. The one is the dominant male with the two teardrops and an elongated flower on one side. The other one I believe to be female is the one with just a single teardrop that I call “left eye”. It has been showing off a very barred pattern and swimming with the male. No real aggression between these two toward each other but almost a united front in keeping the other fish pushed to upper areas of tank. I had not wanted to pair up and breed any trimac but I would let it happen for the experience in doing so.
