Thank you so much for the responses, I feel that I have learned a good deal here. RD. RD. thank you for the references and in depth explantation, great information you have provided as always. It would appear the levamisole has value in the ray keepers cabinet. With the ease of dosing schedule, it is of interest.

Given the short and simple treatment protocol, and wider spectrum of parasites treated, I would consider levamisole the superior treatment option over Praziquatel.

Levamisole treats a wide scope of nematodes (round worms), Praziquantel primarily treats flatworms and tapeworms. If I was treating a fish that was suspected of a worm infestation, but didn't have a smear and proper diagnosis from a vet, I would personally consider using both medications.

Even better. There you have it folks. The 411 on parasites and treatment.

Thanks RD. RD. And everyone that contributed. I think many believed Praziquatel to be a cure all with internal parasites.

up for this thread :) what are your experiences on using Levamisole on rays?
i've tried 2 times and it seem to throw my rays of food? also my rays became motionless so i was a little worried.
is this normal and acceptable reaction from them?

Did you follow the prescribed dosage that RD. RD. Noted?

Yes, inused the same dosage , but my ray will go off food and turn inactive. I'm
Not sure if that is to be expedted or ahould i be worried.

So far both rays i used levamisole on before are ok though. But I'm
Thinking if i need to use levamisole next time if the reactiom i got from them is acceptable

Did you follow the prescribed dosage that RD. RD. Noted?
