Weird lumps on goldfish body?

I rescued three goldfish that all have these about 3 years ago. Three years later and they still have yet to lose these 'tumors'. The goldfish are supposedly around 16 years old. hasnt caused any issues for me

okay cool! if they are healthy that's all that matters to me. Do you know if this is contagious? I'm a little worried about mixing them with my existing goldfish

Could be tumors. Wouldn’t say cysts.

I have mixed them with my other goldfish and have yet to spread, I can probably take some pictures tomorrow if you remind me

kinda hoping its a lymph since apparently that should not affect the goldfish's health and go away with clean water. thxs for the input!

It is, when I had goldfish I had a couple of em with it, it don't hurt em in anyway but it is genetic so it will pass down to all their children. Also it doesn't go away, it's a type of cancer that isn't deadly.

Yeah it's kind of a weird series of cancerous tumors that grow on them and since cancer messes with the genetic coding it also gets passed down to the next generation. It's actually a very common thing for members of the carp family to get.
