Today my new spiny eel arrived.
I bought it as "mastacembelus frenatus".
I often read that you get most of the times false labled.
Could you tell me if this is a mastacembelus frenatus or what else this is?

Very hard to identify as can be very varied in colour. Does look to me as though it could well be.

Could be frenatus. Probably 12inches.

Thought the same. The broad tail looks a lot like the eels lately availiable from Nigeria.
