4×2×2 ft... Yes just these 2 alone

In the future if you get small cichlids buy more than 2.
Cichlids will develop a pecking order so aggression can be spread toward others rather than one.
I suggest you separate them with a divider if the aggression is extreme torn fins, other fish retreating to a corner to escape the onslaught.
Eventually one will get too stressed out and die.
I just personally went through this with 4 juvenile Convict Cichlid.

Can i introduce different species to reduce aggression??

One thing you should consider, is that Nandopsis haitiensus is the only endemic cichlid in its natural habitat.
This evulution tends to make haitiensus, not adept at playing well with other species (especially other cichlids)
If they can't kill them, they usually become stressed and succumb to disease.
And especially in the limited space of a 4 ft tank, it may be hard to keep any more than one alive.
My pair alone had total control of their 6 ft tank.

Hello guys... my two black nasties are looking good and i just wanna know can i feed them mealworms on a daily basis one is 3-3.5 inches and the other is 2.5-3 inches growth rate is slow... im feeding them frozen shrimp sometimes and chicken heart sometimes and a local cichlid pellets on a daily basis... now im breeding mealworms and fed them only one per day is that good can anyone help me with a feeding chart...ill post the pics on next post...Thank you

Meal worms are a good source, but make sure you gut load the meal worms with high quality food themselves..
I would not feed haitiensus chicken, the concentration and composition fats in terrestrial animals like mammals or birds isn't easily digestible for fish that are evolved to eat simpler life forms like insects, crustaceans, worms and other aquatic life.
Haitiensus are known to be susceptible to bloat if fed indigestible fats and certain proteins.

And I agree with tlindsey about always acquiring a number of cichlids to grow up together and choose mates, buying just 2, is often not going to have a happy ending.

If the 2 photos are shots of your separate fish, they both look like males to me.

Yes the both are male but it looked like a female back then and u itself told me the bigger one was female when it was small... ok about mealworms can i feed it daily or anyother schedule for it...

Do all adults have a black mask, black forehead? And what does it depend on whether they have a nuchal hump or not?
