Stupid question, but does anyone think that's possible? I know plastics in that can affect water quality. But has anyone here pulled it off or not?

Foldable aquaculture pond. Not sure were you would by one in your country, their hard to find in Australia these days. Come in both rectangular and round, often used for koi showing in some countries.

I have also used them when fish got too large for my tanks, and for over wintering koi in a basement when in Wisconsin.

I have seen those here but does the plastic slowly leech into the water or not? I know that can happen sometimes if you keep it long term. Also how would you put filtration on that? Like a filter size/type?
