Looks like it may be a spilo, but a lot of the serras look alike.

100% Serrasalmus maculatus

(Sometimes sellers still call these "spilo" which is old text).


Having said that, this is ONE of my favorite species. Super aggressive and usually personable.

Personable was a great call out. This fish loves to swim around and stays at the front of the tank watching everything

Hey All, the piranha is doing great and I’d say it’s already looking bigger. It’s on a diet of tilapia and shrimp with a little vitachem marinade. Would you recommend feeding once or twice per day though?
