Things took a 180 into unexpected territory for this tank today!

What happened: https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/...tus-catfish-photos.743361/page-3#post-8440899

Tldr for this thread: This tank will be used to grow out some small pictus catfish until they're big enough to grow in my existing 473 liter. They will go in with the 24 black kuhli loaches (which is a safe mix at the size they currently are), and as mentioned in the link I get to enjoy that mix while I can.
Depending on how fast or slow they grow up, they may also go with some of the other fish for this tank.

Just moved the pictus catfish in today. This isn't the only time the tank has held temporary residents from other tanks (see page 2), but it is the first time it's being used to grow out fish for another tank.
I don't expect it will be the last, though. I will use it to grow out the baby pink tail chalceus, horseface loaches, and yoyo loaches for the future custom clown loach tank so they don't get eaten by that tank's archerfish, clown loaches, or pictus catfish at tiny purchase sizes.

The kuhli loaches will be moved over on Sunday, I didn't have the energy or patience today to catch all 24. Looks like they will be the first permanent residents of this tank to go in it.

Here's also the full tank shot. More fake plants and some wood+rocks will be added soon, plus I will have to silicone some fake plants to rocks to weigh them dwn against all the flow the Sicce pumps make.

And speaking of moving fish, I moved the Odessa barbs from quarantine into the 110 liter on Saturday to begin their growout. They are surprisingly hard to photograph in the 110 liter at the sizes they are now, this is the best pic I could get.
Some more thin ones (not sure how many as dead ones get eaten quickly by the loaches before I can get them) died, so I picked up a few more still. I don't know how many I have at the moment, but hopefully it's at least 9.

This tank will also be used to grow some of the mentioned future custom tank fish out in. They'll start here before they can grow out in this tank.

To address what Fishman Dave Fishman Dave was wondering about the Odessa's compatibility with this tank, they're getting along great with the green neons/cardinals! Hopefully that will last for as long as they need to grow out.

To catch 24 Kuhlis without having an aneurysm, remove all the decorations from the tank, and place a section of 1" PVC pipe or similar in it. The Kuhlis will pile up in there; just slap a net over both ends and lift the pipe, tilting the whole mess into one of the nets. Bright lights will help.

Going to catch and move the kuhlis today! Soon as it's done I'll be adding the pictures.

Also, decided to up my pictus catfish group from 6 to 9. 3 more will be picked up on Wednesday to grow out here.

Finished moving the kuhli loaches. The PVC trick for some reason did not work.
They weren't as bad to catch as I was expecting, but no walk in the park either.

One got its tiny eye spine snagged in the net (what are the odds?) and had to be cut out, with prior attempts to manually pull it out. That must have been stressful and I hope it will be OK.

I'll add pictures when I can get them.

Yes, dear M MultipleTankSyndrome . I am aware that you cannot have 9.3 fish. A shoal of pictus will look good. Pictus pictures please.

Not until Wednesday when I get those 3 more. But on Wednesday, absolutely.

I'll try and get both them and the kuhlis in the same picture.
