I also watched it last night and, mehh. The yautja looked a bit lame and they should have kept with the original look in my opinion.....also,I'm tired of the same old ho hum storyline of the badass alien killer with advanced weaponry being figured out, outsmarted and vanquished by a seemingly lesser matched opponent.
They've got to figure out a new formula or stop doing the franchise.
I was a bit miffed about the bear scene. Pound for pound a full grown grizzly would have dusted that dude. It wouldn't have had a chance to even think about what fancy gadget it was going to use to kill the bear.

And I thought it would have been a nice touch, as in one of the early predator movies, if the mother ship would have come down and all the other lizard things had taken the headless dude away, whilst paying their battle respects to Pocahontas. That would have been a tear in the eye moment for me, lol.

My viewing for tonight. One of my favourites of all time from the early 80's, starring a very young Kurt Russell. The remake from a few years ago was great too.

The bear fight didn't bother me much considering the yautja has considerable physical strength,it is probably as strong as the bear and the bear could not even see the yautja during most of the fight.
The displays of superiority are what keeps me interested in the Predator films.
I'm not 100% on this but I think that pistol was the one given to Danny Glover's character in the 2nd movie.
That would be a great tie in.

It was . When glover kills the predator on the ship the other predators come and claim the body one of them tosses the pistol to him.
At the time it just suggests that the predators are an old race and have been around for hundreds of years, flash forward or back I should say to Prey and it ties the two movies together.
My question is how did the future predators come to possess the pistol again? Last we see of it is when she hands it to the chief.

.....one of the previous Predator films revealed that the yautja are able to either record or monitor certain activities remotely....going by that I assume that at least one more hunter was sent to take on the tribe and, wound up gaining possession of the pistol.

Anybody like The Gray Man movie?
I was ready for watching that the other night but the guys on the cycling forum I'm on didn't think much of it, so I didn't bother. What did you think of it?

I am pretty sure the year on the gun was like 1760 or something like that. If that's the case then it's a few years after what was considered the "golden age" of piracy but that would be an interesting movie. Put it up against Edward Teach or the like.
