Gee I wonder why, seems like some people still live by an eye for an eye, or smack (or two) for a smack. Personally I don’t find this narrative funny, or entertaining. Two wrongs seldom make things right. Defending one self against serious violence is one thing, this situation certainly did not call for a counter attack.
Violence against women is plain and simply wrong. I'd also go as far to say that even if a woman slaps a guy first, as in the video, then that doesn't give a guy the licence to then unleash his superior brute force. Restrain yes, by all means, until the woman calms down some.

However, and this is where I entered the conversation in post 29995, after John's savage broken nose attack, if a woman comes at you with such force that she causes injury, then, as I mentioned, she can no longer hide behind her, "oh, I'm only a little helpless woman", crap.

John showed more restraint in that encounter than I ever could. I guarantee you if that loonatic of a banshee had broken my nose, she would have been sat in the cubicle opposite me in the infirmary nursing a sore head of her own.

Agreed on the self defence aspect. Absolutely.

Eh,what's this now?
Hello; I watch a late night comedy show Gutfeld. Not long ago they were making fun of a list of terms, phrases, comments that should no longer be used. Can not recall the entity which published the list just now. I took it to be part of some ever evolving woke agenda but am not entirely sure. Regardless the list sounded than way.
The phrase "beating a dead horse" was among the stuff made fun of. There were lots of others and most have slipped my mind just now. I decided to ignore the advice and to remain the old school dinosaur I am comfortable being.

I taught school from 1970 to 2004. All in public schools except for one year at a small college. Over those decades the violence among female students escalated a lot.

Her size and weight have nothing to do with anything. She's a human who should be able to make the same decisions any other human could make. Imo you aren't holding her accountable.
Ridiculous. I admit that the fact of her gender likely only matters to dinosaurs raised in another age...and one's upbringing is not an easy thing to overcome...but are you seriously suggesting that if another person, regardless of gender and regardless of motivation, strikes you that you are going to respond in the same manner each time? I'll say it again: ridiculous.

The response will be modified to suit the circumstances. You aren't going to react to a 15-year-old kid or an 80-year-old drunk the same way you would to a healthy adult man your own size. You need to use judgment...and when this jerk took a slap from his wife...paused a split second...and then whacked her once, and swung and half-missed again, and then appeared to be trying to follow through yet again...he proved that his judgment is not to be trusted.

She absolutely should have been able to make a better choice. So should he...and it's more important in his case because he can do more damage.

Your entire argument sounds like "Well...she started it!"

No. I'm not going to sit here and say it's okay for her to slap him because she can't do damage. It's not ok. It's also more than that and you know that, or do you? That's public humiliation. Ok, what if he didn't hit her, but grabbed her by her hair and led her off for a little talk. And I mean a talk. A stern warning about hitting. Would that be better? Is that acceptable? There's no hitting? If you're saying it's ok once, it'll be ok again. Nope. My response would be modified to the situation. A same response for every situation IS ridiculous. But I reserve the right to strike you back regardless of who or what you are. Again all I'm saying is I didn't see anything over the top happen in that video. Two drunks taking a swing at each other. I just don't agree with jumping all over the guy completely dismissing she provoked him. What if he's one of those husbands who gets slapped around by their wives lmao? It would be funny and we wouldn't be having this conversation. I'm sorry your argument sounds like, "How many brownie points do I get for pointing out this horrible horrible man! How dare he hit a woman!?" That's what I'm disagreeing with. Sorry we can agree to disagree. You think he's a jerk, I respect that. I will say there is a big part of me that respects Dana for putting a stop to that nonsense. Hopefully they will both make better decisions in the future.

All I know is the next time one of my 40 pound grandkids kicks me, I’m going to boot that little human clear across the room.

Obviously I’m kidding, I’ll use an open hand, at least once, maybe twice, possibly a third time depending on how well I connect with the first two.

Hello; I see you two are still in the sadistic, hippophilic necrophile mode.
