Background finally came in for tanganyika tank. Trying out a few different scapes.

Update. Filled the tank up twice today. No issues. The bottom rocks are just thrown in. I'll start the scape tomorrow.

Looking good! I prefer the look w/out the snail shell carnage and I bet it's going to look *really* sharp once the water clears.

One unexpected bit... I'm surprised to see weighted rocks float. Are they somewhat porous and take on water as ballast?

The rocks have multiple small holes to let water in. But some rocks still didn't sink. I emailed the manufacturer for recommendations. The snail shells are going back in. Lol. But they will be in small clusters spread through out the tank.

2nd that. The natural rate of repose for broken rock isn't symmetrically piled. Spread those out a bit and avoid anything greater than a 1:1 ratio in the pile and you will probably see a more natural look. That's coming along beautifully. I wish I were in a position to do something similar.
