I think it could be done, but to effectively mitigate their extreme territorial aggressiveness, you would need an enormous tank or pond in excess of 1,000 gallons. This is out of reach of most cichlid enthusiasts.
you are right mosr dont have an aquarium that big and it would be risky but could you imagine a 20 plus inch dovii and 20 plus inch umbee getting along just want to see who has experince with this and it actually worked with no problems hope to see somebody who has and hopefully the would post pictures
Not even. King of diy still had aggression problems with his aros in his 2000. I wouldn't keep full grown dovii or umbees with anything period
just remember im talking about in tanks as big as 500 gallons to many thosand gallons and again if anbody had success please share with story and pictures
We've had a male umbee and a male dovii both at 1.5ft in a 4500 gal but not at the same time. They seemed to not mind other cichlids in there but a small variety, like vieja, pbass, midas.
i think i seen some of your videos you had big bad the dovii in the tank and then eaten by the pariaeba catfish and you have some of the nicest fish and one heck of an aquarium the umbee and dovii wernt to bostiourous as it sound with the space i sounds like in your experince also iw ould like to try mixing rhe two ina giant aquarium my self of at lesat 2000 to 4000 gallons like that a nd i know agrression is spread with other fish would be awsome if you temted trying this would love to see the result some might say it wont work and some say it might depends on fish i know just want to see others experience
