umbee and dovii

i would say even though the midas cichlids are my favorite this would be the ultmate setup i would love to have one male umbee at 20 inch plus and one male doviiat 20 inch plus mixed with a red tail catfis pleco and some ohter fish like peacock bass and maybey some other cichlids lke red terror and probably some convicts with lots of decoration like driftwood and rocks to divide territories

just remember im talking about in tanks as big as 500 gallons to many thosand gallons and again if anbody had success please share with story and pictures

Guapote Mel out on the west coast has kept Parachromis Dovii for years and recommends nothing smaller than a 500 just for a pair and some smaller cichlids (I think he kept them with convicts).

Check out his YouTube videos - he kept Umbees, too - but not with the Dovii. I’m not sure the reasoning behind that, but going purely off of the research it sounds like it might be a risk.

i think i seen some of his videoes with thd huge chancho he kept with the umbee and other cichlid also seen some cichlids he had and another one with some of the most impressive cichlids i have ever seen if that is the same person i would of loved to ask him how he kept things in check but you have to admit to do this would be interesting to see especailly if it worked
