I pointed this out ages ago and that something needed to be done about it. But the powers that be decided old threads have their value too.I never pay any attention to the contests, points, awards, trophies, likes, hates, indifferents, blah, blah, blah...although I do like checking out the photos submitted and sometimes I even vote!
But...lately it seems as though you guys need to add a new trophy/award to the list. There looks to be a heated competition amongst new members to see who can dig up the oldest deadest posts and bring them back to life with pithy comments; they pop right up to the top of the New Posts list, and since some of those necrotic threads bear titles that might be of interest, we click on them and...are disappointed...
That kind of dedication deserves recognition!
Good going, S Samuel420 ...you just did it, revitalizing a thread that last drew breath 10 months ago. And that last post was done by a bot (which I reported)...and I'm pretty dang sure you are one too (so I reported you as well).Exactly! Older threads can be really valuable when you're searching for specific information or data. However, when someone revives an old thread just to post a simple comment like "Cool!" or share outdated or incorrect advice, it often detracts from the thread’s value. I hadn't realized this was a recurring issue until it became particularly frustrating recently.
My approach on MFK is probably pretty typical: I usually browse the New Posts section for interesting content. I guess I need to be more mindful of the dates on posts before diving in.
Too bad Chix isn't the administrator otherwise it would have been slayed.Good going, S Samuel420 ...you just did it, revitalizing a thread that last drew breath 10 months ago. Bot on bot action, right here on MFK. This is better than female mud wrestling!
