LOL its happened before I was like "why they keep calling me HIM?" No worries.

M michaelyonis welcome to the forum, this is a really cool place to be. Post pics, make a journal of your fish journey! My largest tank is similar in size, a 225. I saw some of your selections.

Always plan on max size potential even if your fish don't get there. Makes it easier to decide how many/much.

Chocs to 12"

Parrots 6-10"

Oscars 10"-16+" give or take care and genes

Haven't had Geos so can't comment on those. They're a range of sizes depending on type. Like others said, check water chemistry and save yourself grief with
incompatible fish.

Plus some of these fish live a good while so you'd want long term compatibility. Its trial and error sometimes because juvies don't have their full
personality and fish that are simpatico as juvies fight as adults. It happens.
I have no doubts. Thank you for the welcome. I LOVE Oscar’s, and I would love to build a tank setup around an Oscar with some other cichlids similar temperament as the Oscar so no one is bullying the Oscar. I know blue acaras get along well with them for the most part, so do blood parrots usually. So if you have any advice or suggestions in that direction, I would love to hear them. I also saw your post with your extremely Large Oscar. He is absolutely stunning!

What would your thoughts be on an Oscar, a Chocolate Cichlid, a small group of Geos, and some dithers like either SDs, Buenos Aires Tetras, or Giant Danios? I think you mentioned the possibility of two different types of dithers as well?
Yeh dude
2 different types of dither will also be awesome
Plus the combo u mentioned is fine accept those tetras like they will disappear quite fast
Geos are a good combo with them some medium size dithers/schoolers will be fine
All fishes are recommended from either baby or medium sized (non cichlid dithers adult) u may see some agression which will usually go away quite soon

I have/had all of those fish, sadly having to put down my last acara Jazz. Details in the disease thread. I still don't really want to talk about it.

Parrots, oscars, and acaras are very engaging and intelligent fish.

Electric blue acaras are energetic, playful and attentive. Full of personality. They are also CHAMPION jumpers. Not only will they hurl themselves out you may even find them in the next room! I've had 4 and all of them jumped many times even with covers. I had one jump from my hands while I was holding her. There is some discussion of their genetic sturdiness. Of the 4 I had 3 develop issues after reaching adulthood. (4th one jumped one time too many)

Oscars, yeah. Everybody knows about O's. My plan was to get a big baby, see if I could get him to a foot in the first year and let time/genes/care do the rest. So far so good. I'll be doing a total timeline of Brick at some point and pull out archive pics.

Parrots get a lot of grief for appearance and whatnot, but their complete appeal is intelligence and personality. They will show many complex behaviors and are mostly entertaining with their antics. My parrot Boss (see avatar) has a long going relationship with my Oscar. Started off enemies, then frenemies, now they're like an old married couple. With one exception all of my other parrots have been very healthy with no issues. Currently have 3 parrots:

Boss (M) ~7+" approx 5+ y.o
Kong (F) 8" approx 5+ y.o
Tango (M) 8" approx 3 y.o

Kong is super aggressive, Boss in-between, and Tango is only aggressive with other parrots but is skittish at times. He's also the most playful one. Parrots can and will get more territorial and aggressive as they age. Some have movable mouths and teeth, some don't. Boss and Kong are siblings and were sub adults when I got them. Boss and Tango are massive. Kong is 'big boned' and a bit more elongated in the body.

Kong will fight any fish, anytime, anywhere. "The Goon"
Boss fights when he wants to and keeps order in the 225. The "Cop"
Tango acts tough but is quick to run and hide. The "Wimp"
