I swapped the inhabitants of my 4x2 marine tank in the living room with my 5x2 freshwater in my dining room recently. The result is the freshwater tank now in 4x2 planted. 4B5762C2-4FB5-44DE-A003-AD0BFFBF5354.jpeg
I just wish I had painted the typical blue central marine overflow to the sump.
And not the right place I know but the marine now in 5.5’x20”

everyone seems much happier!

Are those tubes in your planted tanks breeding caves for plecos or other species?

Beautiful!

Tropheus Community Tank

Fish Inhabitants:

Tropheus ikola
Clown Loach
Angelfish
Celest Rasbora
Hifin Tetra
Dawn Tetra
Rainbow Loach
Panda Garra
Chinese Algae Eater
Green Cory

Plants:

Anubias
Bucephalandra
Water Lettuce
Silvinia natans
Riccia
Red Root
Moss
Rotala H'ra

I'm glad you are enjoying the tank. Most people believe that tropheus can't be kept with these other species or some of these plants. I started keeping tropheus more than 25 years ago. I combined my passion for keeping Tropheus and creating planted community tanks.

How big is it? I'm assuming pretty large, 55 or 75 perhaps?

It's a 40 gallon breeding tank with a Seachem overhang filter, 6 sponge filters, and a Fluval® SEA CP4 Circulation Pump. The rocks over the pump act as a passive biofilter. The plants also are part of the natural filtration. I over-filter for an overcrowded aquarium such as this one. I have solar and battery power storage and my location does not often have blackouts, so power outages are not too much of a concern.

Awesome! It looks bigger in the picture so that's why I thought it was a larger tank lol.
