Remember... big tank's don't NEED big fish, if I had a tank that size I personally would do a rio sarstun biotope. Cryptoheros chetumalensis, thorichthys aureus, rocio octofasciata, trichromis salvini, theraps irregularis, chuco godmanni, vieja melanura, maybe petenia splendida.

Would try to do a biotope, but the supplies would be way too much. $400 dollars just for the substrate, and imagine how much it would cost for a bunch of carpeting plants. Even worse if I don't use special substrate, imagine the amount of root tabs. Maybe one day, but the current budget ain't enough a planted tank. The idea does include a gazebo in the middle to sit and rest, so maybe at least a hardscape.

The stocking has now changed to:
1 Giraffe catfish
1 Walking catfish clarias batrachus
1 Albino clown knife fish
1 Albino pacu
1 Pheonix barb
2 Florida gar
Will this work?
What could go with these fish?

More phoenix barbs, they are social
Pretty sure clarias and pacu are also social

Ok for pacu they are schooling when young, but phoenix barbs are really expensive, even for one

How about mahseers? They're a lot cheaper if they're schooling.
Swap Phoenix barbs for mahseers

Guys, my dad finally allowed me to buy fish that looks like snakes.

Now I can keep bichirs, marbled achara, lungfish, snakeheads, etc

Without these restrictions, any recommendations?
