Yeah, wood is expensive, but...20 bucks for a single piece like that is insane! A simple 2x3 and a few minutes with a rasp and sander to shape the grip would recreate that.
And it even looks from that pic like you still need to drill it for the attachment points as well. Ha! Anybody who would actually consider spending 20 bucks on that handle...probably couldn't manage to mark and drill it themselves....and don't forget that you need a pair of 'em...

I have one of those polycart plastic wheelbarrows filled with rocks i collected for when i finally get around to rebooting my tank. Im scared to move it as it flexes and creaks from the weight everytime i lift the handle. I think it will fall apart when the time comes.
We had a black plastic one like the black SmartCart pictured in the photographs of wheelbarrows above.
